Volume
The quantity of contracts/lots that changed hands in a given period. Shows participation in a move; a breakout without volume is suspect.
Real volume exists only on centralized exchanges (futures, stocks, crypto exchanges); the "tick volume" shown in forex/CFDs is an approximate proxy.
Volume is read through the price-volume relationship: rising volume in an advance is healthy, falling volume is weak; a surge in volume after a sharp move (climax) can signal exhaustion.
