VWAP (volume-weighted average price)
The intraday volume-weighted average price; the institutional "fair price" reference. Above it is read as buyer control, below it as seller control.
VWAP resets every day and requires volume data (accurate for futures/stocks, approximate for CFDs). With standard deviation bands, it is used in mean reversion and trend trades.
Typical use: take only longs while above VWAP, and treat a pullback back to VWAP as an entry. There are also weekly/monthly and "anchored" VWAP (started from a specific event) variants.
