Retest(Retest)

Price returning to a broken level and testing it in its new role (support↔resistance); a confirmed entry opportunity.

Also written as: geri test

A retest shows whether the breakout is genuine: if the level holds, buyers/sellers have taken control. On entry, the stop is placed on the opposite side of the level; risk is small and well defined.

Not every breakout produces a retest; in strong moves price goes without coming back. In that case, missing the trade is better than chasing it.
