CPI (inflation)(CPI (consumer price index))
Consumer price index; the main inflation measure guiding central banks' interest rate decisions. It is tracked under two headings: headline and core (excluding food/energy).

CPI above expectations → expectation of higher rates for longer → the dollar strengthens, indices and gold come under pressure (a tendency, not a rule). The market often focuses on core and the monthly change rather than the headline.
US CPI is usually released mid-month at 15:30 Turkey time (UTC+3); Türkiye's TÜİK (Turkish Statistical Institute) data comes on the 3rd of the month at 10:00.
