POC (point of control)(POC (point of control))
The price level with the highest traded volume in the volume profile; it is the price the market accepts as "fair" during that period, acting as a magnet and as support/resistance.
Also written as: POC · point of control
The previous day's POC and "naked POC" (a POC that has not been retested since) are tracked as intraday targets and reaction levels. Price moving away from the POC and returning to it is mean-reversion logic.
The POC is read together with the value area (VAH/VAL); if price is accepted outside the value area, a new value zone forms.
