Slippage(Slippage)

The order is filled at a price different from the one requested. It increases around news events and in low liquidity.

Also written as: kayma

Market orders and triggered stop orders are exposed to slippage; limit orders, on the other hand, will not be filled worse than the specified price, but may not be filled at all.

Going live without adding a realistic slippage and spread cost to your backtest results is the most common reason a strategy's real performance looks better than it actually is.
