Pros

  • No time limit; 2-Step requires at least 4 trading days per phase
  • Max loss is static at 10% of the initial capital; no separate consistency rule
  • The 2-Step fee may be refunded with the first Reward withdrawal (no refund on 1-Step)
  • Four platforms: MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView (via an OANDA broker profile)
  • No news or weekend-holding restrictions during the evaluation; EAs and algorithmic strategies are allowed (forbidden practices excepted)

Cons

  • All accounts are demo: FTMO states on its site that it is not a broker, accepts no deposits and that accounts hold fictitious funds
  • On a funded Standard account, trading selected instruments within ±2 minutes of selected news and holding over the weekend are restricted; the Swing account has no such limits but leverage is up to 1:30
  • The standard 2-Step profit split is 80%; 90% requires Scaling Plan or Premium Programme conditions
  • Fees are listed in euro on the global ftmo.com and in dollars on FTMO's US page; confirm the current price shown to you at purchase
  • Total capital per trader is capped at $400,000 (before scaling); running identical strategies across many accounts can lead to suspension

Full review

FTMO offers two products: 2-Step (FTMO Challenge + Verification; labelled "standard 2-phase" on the site and used as the main programme in this entry) and the newer 1-Step (single phase).

2-Step rules. Profit target of 10% for the FTMO Challenge and 5% for Verification. The max daily loss is 5% (recalculated every day at 00:00 CE(S)T from that day's balance minus 5% of the initial capital); the max loss is 10% and static. At least 4 trading days per phase, no time limit and no separate consistency rule.

Fees. One-time. List prices in dollars (from FTMO's dollar-priced US page, 10 October 2026): for 2-Step, $99 for a $10,000 account, $289 for $25,000, $399 for $50,000, $619 for $100,000 and $1,249 for $200,000. The global ftmo.com lists the same accounts in euro (€89, €250, €345, €540, €1,080); confirm the current price shown to you at purchase. The 2-Step fee may be refunded with the first Reward withdrawal. 1-Step starts at $89 and is not refunded; it has a 10% target, 3% daily loss, a 10% max loss trailing on end-of-day balance, a 50% "Best Day" rule and a 90% profit split. On 10 October 2026 the site showed promotional prices on the $100,000 accounts (2-Step $499, 1-Step $463); promotions change often.

Reward withdrawals. A claim can be requested on or after the 14th day following the first trade; review takes 1–2 business days. The 2-Step split is 80% (90% when Scaling Plan or Premium Programme conditions are met). Methods: bank wire, Visa Direct/Mastercard Send (up to $20,000), Skrill (up to $3,000) and crypto.

Restrictions on the funded stage. There is no news or weekend-holding restriction during the evaluation. On a funded FTMO Account (Standard), opening or closing trades on affected instruments within ±2 minutes of selected news is prohibited and positions must be closed shortly before the market closes for the weekend. The Swing account has neither restriction; it is only available on 2-Step and its leverage is up to 1:30 (Standard: up to 1:100).

Legal framing. The operating company is FTMO s.r.o. (Prague). FTMO states on its own site that all accounts are demo accounts with fictitious funds, that FTMO companies do not act as a broker and do not accept deposits, and that earnings are performance-based rewards rather than investment returns. Türkiye is not on the list of countries where service is unavailable. Total capital allocation across all accounts is capped at $400,000 per trader (before scaling).

Sponsor note: FTMO is one of GLADIO's sponsors. Data was taken from the firm's own site on 10 October 2026; prices and rules can change, so check the current page before buying.
